Christine was born in a small town in northwest Wisconsin on December 18, 1958. Her mother was an elementary school teacher and her father was a credit consultant.
She decided to become a writer at an early age, when she learned that people got paid to write the stuff on the back of cereal boxes. After watching All The President’s Men a few dozen times she settled on journalism.
In 1981 Christine graduated from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan with majors in journalism and political science. Her first job was as a research editor at a publishing house in Detroit.
In 1985 she moved to Florida to become a reporter for The Stuart News. In 1986 she was recruited by The Palm Beach Post. In the 23 years since, Christine has covered everything from parades to executions.

She distinguished herself as the paper’s court reporter for 12 years, covering notable trials such as the William Kennedy Smith rape trial, Florida’s landmark case against the tobacco industry, Tom and Nicole’s adoptions and Roxanne Pulitzer’s dalliances. She was a lead reporter in the paper's coverage of the November 2000 election. In 2004 and 2006 she received the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award (aka "The Poor Man's Pulitzer") for her investigations of the working conditions of migrant farm workers. Other awards include the 2008 Mental Health America Journalism Award for her column on depression and mental illness. Her weekly groundbreaking column on depression evolved from her own battle with mental illness and covers a wide range of topics frequently ignored by the main- |
stream media. Her writing style - simple words, short sentences and intimate stories - is tailored for readers currently suffering. She is a senior fellow of the Knight Foundation and has appeared on The Deborah Norville Show, Inside Edition, CNN and City Confidential. Today she specializes in computer-assisted investigative reporting.
Also an accomplished swimmer, triathlete and long-distance runner, the love of her life and greatest accomplishment is her 17-year-old daughter Kealy.
When not working, Christine enjoys traveling, scuba diving, reading, skiing, writing, swimming, naps and watching "Dog" chase his tale.
